MTTM Theatrics will present the New Orleans premiere of LAST NIGHT AT THE RUE BAYOU, an immersive musical experience, running April 16 through May 3 at Storyville Music Hall in the French Quarter. See photos of the show.
The production will invite audiences into a music-driven theatrical environment with shared tables, food, and drink as part of the experience.
Set inside a juke joint at the crossroads between the living world and the spirits of the bayou, the musical follows Miss Ilean Durand as she fights to save her late husband’s music hall from a corrupt Parish Commissioner. The story unfolds over the course of a single night, blending themes of love, justice, and the supernatural.
The creative team includes Michael Meth (concept, book, and lyrics), with an original score by Martee LeBow and direction by Obie Award winner Tracey Conyer Lee. Music direction is by Seth Farber, with Irwin Fisch serving as music supervisor. Choreography is by Julio Agustin, with associate choreography by Donald Jones Jr.
The cast features New Orleans-based performers, including Kadejah One Higdon as Miss Ilean, Donald Jones Jr. as Reverend Beaucoup/Papa Legba, Deri’Andra Y’vette Tucker as La Fonda, and Caldrick Williams as Tiny. Additional cast members include Andrew Michael Antoine, Madison Margaret Clark, Keith Claverie, Tim Davis, Queen Shereen, Reggie McNeil, Rayshaughn Armant, and Melana Lloyd.
