The new musical White Noise received its first public viewing in an Equity Reading,
produced by Nasser Productions, on Thursday, May 25 at the Kirk
Theater. The reading featured Kacie Sheik (Las Vegas' We Will Rock You), Whitney Bashor, Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Ragtime, Seussical), Dave Hull, Kevin Pariseau (Slut, I Love You, You're Perfect ) and Andrew Dolan (An American Daughter). Nina
Shreiber co-produced the evening, which featured a 4-piece band
helmed by musical director Sonny Paladino, as well as musical staging
by Todd L. Underwood and musical and vocal arrangements by Ben Cohn. Ryan J. Davis directed. White Noise was conceived by Davis and features book, music and lyrics by Joe Drymala, with additional songs by Rick Crom (Newsical), Glen Kelly (dance arranger, The Producers, Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone), Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy, Sarah, Plain and Tall, Legally Blonde) Stephen Sislen (Slut) and Eric Svejcar (Caligula). White Noise is billed as "A Cautionary Musical.""Confirming
the old adage that it's better to be a star than wear one, an adorable
pair of sisters, Blanche and Eva, lead the teen band White Noise,
mixing irresistible harmonies with white power rhetoric and taking the
nation by storm. Their message of racial purity resonates with young
people across America and the rise of White Noise coincides with a rise
in the white supremacist movement which threatens to engulf the
country, as Blanche and Eva prove themselves to be masters of the most
terrifying and unstoppable form of Fascism in today's culture: Top
Forty pop," state press notes.
