Last
night, October 24th, at Birdland, Broadway musical director/pianist/conductor Steve
Marzullo switched hats and showed off his composer side, and brought in
a bevy of theater types to show off his considerable writing talents in And Then I Wrote...The Songs of Steve Marzullo.
The concert included musical performances by Terri Klausner, Michael
Winther, Liz Callaway, Ric Ryder, Alix Korey, Michael Arden, Rebecca
Luker, Michael Gruber, Judy Blazer and Darius DeHaas. Seen cheering
from the audience: composers Lynn Aherns and Stephen
Flaherty, Light in the Piazza's Tony-winning orchestrator Ted Sperling, musical director and Brooklyn producer John McDaniel, composer Jeff Blumenkrantz, and performers Julia Murney, Ryan Perry and Harris Doran.
