Love, Death and Interior Decorating (An Evening of One-Act Plays) opened on November 2nd at Altered Stages Theater (212 W. 29th St.).

Love, Death, and Interior Decorating is written by Keith Boynton. "Walls, directed by Boynton, tells the story of a young woman's efforts to renovate her recently deceased father's house. Her quest is complicated by the sudden reappearance of an old flame, whose abrupt departure from her life she has never forgiven - or understood. The cast includes Joan Kubicek and Mike Lavoie. Set in a fictional European nation, The Quotable Assassin examines the relationship between a jailed revolutionary condemned to die and the elegant lady novelist whose fascination with him may exceed the bounds of professional curiosity. It is directed by Sandra Boynton with a cast that includes Roya Shanks and Boynton. Both plays display a defiant romanticism in the face of bleak realities, and a lively sense that though we may have abandoned hope, hope has not necessarily abandoned us," as press materials state.

Boynton won a Scholastic Pinnacle Award in playwriting for The Improbable Tragedy of Dr. Ivan Roshashonnavich, which  was performed at a benefit by Sam Waterston, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney and Meryl Streep. His other plays include Books and Water and Trinity, the latter of which he appeared in at the Abingdon Theater.

Tickets are $12.75, and can be purchased at TheaterMania.com or by calling (212) 352-3101.
