Photo Flash: Hugh Jackman Dons the WOLVERINE Claws One Final Time

Hugh Jackman is going out with a bang. Or maybe just an Instagram post.

The Tony Award-winner recently used the photo-sharing service to inform fans that the new WOLVERINE film in which he is currently starring will be his final stint as the clawed X-MEN member. He posted a photo of his claw-adorned fist with the caption,

"WOLVERINE ...ONE LAST TIME. HJ"

In that case, it seems he will not be portraying his famous role in the upcoming X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, which is set for a 2017 release. It is unclear whether he will be appearing in the announced X-MEN sequel, DEADPOOL. Could this photo be a device to squelch rumors that the star may be reprising his role in future films? We shall see.

Jackman earned a Tony Award for his Broadway debut in "The Boy From Oz" in 2004, the same year he first hosted the Tony ceremony. The international movie star returned to Broadway in the 2009 hit "A Steady Rain' opposite Daniel Craig, followed by the solo concert "Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway' in 2011. In 2012, he played the role of 'Jean Valjean' in the musical movie "LES MISERABLES." He most recenlty appeared on Broadway in THE RIVER.
