GrooveLily, the trio that is a blend of rock band and musical theatre, recently took center stage at Ars Nova on Tuesday, September 12th.

"Crashing through the boundaries of rock, folk, jazz and pop with their critically-acclaimed original music, New York sensation GrooveLily fuses musical theater with some straight-up rock and roll and brings you an unbelievable show that defies categorization. Injected with sharp wit, soaring vocals and freshly-nuanced songwriting, the trio features the blazing six-string electric violin of />Valerie Vigoda/>, the lightning-fingered piano of />Brendan Milburn/>, and the energetic drums of />Gene Lewin/>," according to press notes.

Milburn and Vigoda are the co-writers (with Rachel Sheinkin) of the new musical Striking 12, which is headed for an Off-Broadway run later in the year.  They also provided original music for, as well as appeared in, the Paper Mill Playhouse's recent production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
