Photo Flash: Barnes & Noble Celebrates LOVE, LOSS with DeVito, Rhea & Kane

By:

Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (1972 Broadway at 66th Street) hosted an evening celebration of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron on Monday, March 1.

The evening included a short performance from the show, as well as a discussion featuring Love, Loss, and What I Wore cast members (past and present): Lucy DeVito, Carol Kane and Caroline Rhea. Following the discussion, DeVito, Kane and Rhea were joined by Ilene Beckerman, author of the best-selling book on which the show is based, for a book signing.

Produced by Daryl Roth and directed by Karen Carpenter, this intimate collection of stories is based on Beckerman's book as well as on the recollections of the Ephrons' friends. Like the popular book, Love, Loss, and What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to. The show is performed by a rotating cast of five all-star actors, who perform in four-week cycles.

Beginning March 3 (through March 28) the cast will consist of Didi Conn, Fran Drescher, Jayne Houdyshell, Carol Kane and Natasha Lyonne. Among the alumni are Samantha Bee, Kristin Chenoweth, Tyne Daly, Michele Lee, Jane Lynch, Rosie O'Donnell, Rhea Perlman, Rita Wilson and many others.

The design team for Love, Loss, and What I Wore includes Jo Winiarski (Scenic Design), Bobby Frederick Tilley II (Costume Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Walter Trarbach (Sound Design) and Maria Verel (Make-Up Design).??A portion of the production's proceeds benefit Dress for Success, a charity that provides work clothing and job support for low-income women. Audience members are invited to donate their gently-used purses and other accessories in the theatre lobby.

The current performance schedule is as follows: Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. & 7 p.m. Beginning April 4th, 2010, the performance schedule will change to: Tuesday at 7 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m. (There will be additional performances on Sunday, April 11 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 2 at 7 p.m. and no performance on Tuesday, March 30 and Tuesday, April 27.)

Tickets ($75.00) are available via Telecharge.com (212-239-6200) and in-person at The Westside Theatre Box Office (407 West 43rd Street).
