On Sunday, January 29th, a special performance of Sweeney Todd was held to benefit the Actors' Fund of America and BroadwayWorld was there to cover the red carpet.

Sweeney Todd currently runs at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, on 230 West 49th Street. In Sweeney Todd, the legendary barber, hell-bent on revenge, takes up with his enterprising neighbor in a delicious plot to slice their way through London's upper crust. Justice will be served - along with lush melody, audacious humor and bloody good thrills. The Actors' Fund will next hold a performance of The Odd Couple on Sunday March 19th.

For over 120 years, The Actors' Fund of America is the national nonprofit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Professionals in film, television, radio, theatre, dance and music all turn to The Actors' Fund in times of need. Programs include: Entertainment Industry Assistance Program, Mental Health Services, Chemical Dependency Services, Senior and Disabled Programs, Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative, AIDS Initiative, The Actors' Work Program, and The Al Hirschfeld Free Health Clinic.
