Photo Coverage: On Golden Pond Opening Night Party

On Golden Pond stars the legendary James Earl Jones and Tony Award winner Leslie Uggams. This is Jones' eagerly-awaited return to the stage for the first time since winning his second Tony Award (for Fences in 1987). It's also the first major U.S. production of On Golden Pond featuring African-American actors in the leading roles. This production premiered to rave reviews last October at The Kennedy Center.
On Golden Pond opened on April 7 at The Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). It was recently nominated for four 2005 Helen Hayes Awards in every category for which it was eligible: Outstanding Production, Lead Actor (Jones), Lead Actress (Uggams) and Supporting Performer (Bockhorn).
