Brian Worsdale the Artistic Director and Conductor of the French Woods Symphony Orchestra invited his buddy Steven Reineke, musical director and conductor of The New York Pops to bring some friends to share a day of music at summer camp and visit French Woods Festival. Maestro Brian prepared the orchestra well. This year's campers spent long hours to be ready for the big moment to make music under the baton of maestro Reineke. It was an afternoon of master classes given by Steven's friends who made the trip with him up to Hancock New York, Broadway stars Laura Osnes and Max Von Essen and also rehearsals for the evenings concert.
With over 85 full productions of musicals and plays a summer, French Woods Festival of The Performing Arts is a creative catalyst for emerging young artists. Run by father daughter team Ron & Beth Schaefer, the camp offers summer programs in the performing arts, theater, dance, music, circus, magic, rock and roll, visual arts, film and video, sports, tennis, fitness, water sports, skateboard, and horseback riding. French Woods is located on a private lake in the western Catskill Mountains of New York State.
