The Broadway Dreams Foundation in association with The Johns Creek Playhouse and Academy of the Arts, brought Broadway to North Atlanta last Saturday, July 22nd. The cabaret fundraiser, "Broadway in the Burbs II" showcased a crème de la crème of Broadway entertainers who performed a dynamic selection of Broadway show tunes to a full house.

The show was a big success for the Broadway Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit foundation benefiting the future of young talent.  The Broadway Dreams Foundation seeks out talented young people, encouraging and facilitating their dreams of careers in performing arts via workshops, scholarships, and mentoring.  The Triple Threat Academy was one such workshop held last week in the Johns Creek area.  Aspiring performing artists from the Triple Threat Academy were invited to perform with stars during "Broadway in the Burbs II."  Adam Hunter (The Lion King) served as Master of Ceremonies.  Among those taking part in the event where Shoshana Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), Norm Lewis (upcoming Les Miserables, Dessa Rose), and Paige Price (Beauty and the Beast, Smokey Joe's Cafe), who is on Triple Threat Academy's faculty and who also produced and directed "Broadway in the Burbs II."  Price claims she was "blown away by the level of talent as well as eagerness in the students" of Triple Threat Academy.

Broadway Dreams Foundation, whose mission is to brighten the future of young talent, will be offering a scholarship to the next Triple Threat Academy to be held in Atlanta in the near future. Through their programs, they will bring performers closer to their Broadway dreams, regardless of their financial status.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit The Broadway Dreams Foundation. For more information on The Broadway Dreams Foundation, Corporate Sponsorship opportunities, or to make a donation to the foundation, please contact Annette Tanner at 678.520.0775, or visit www.mybroadwaydreams.org.
