Pen Parentis Literary Salon Welcomes Will Allison and More Tonight

Pen Parentis has a grand season opener planned, and all avid readers as well as novice and professional writers 21+ are invited to attend! Tonight, September 10th, 2013, at the ever-elegant Andaz Wall Street (75 Wall at Water Street) at 7:00 pm, Pen Parentis opens its tenth season of Literary Salons-still free and open to the public. Four authors will be reading from new works, mingling over happy hour wine and beer, and signing books that are available for purchase from Bluestockings Books.

Liz Rosenberg, poet and author of more than 20 award-winning books for young readers, winner of a 2014 Fulbright, mother of two, presents her second novel for adults, the bestselling book: THE LAWS OF GRAVITY.

Will Allison, another NYTImes bestselling author, balances fatherhood to an eleven-year old with writing prize-winning novels and serving as editor to several notable literary journals.

Amy Shearn, an emerging author from across the bridge, presents her second novel The Mermaid of Brooklyn. She has two kids and teaches writing in many venues.

Finally, Pen Parentis will present a $1000 check to the winner of the 2013-2014 Pen Parentis Writing Fellowship for New Parents: John Jodzio. The author of two story collections, his work is funny, bizarre, and ultimately an emotional roller coaster. He is flying in from Minneapolis where he lives with his wife and his two-year old son.
