Patmon Dance Project: Homescape Will Make New York Debut

Homescape is is a dreamy landscape of dancers that weaves in and out of the places we call home, and arrives in an America that must face either its dark reality or its own demise.

The work builds on the ideas of family and comfort and how the avalanche that is death, loss, and grief rocks the foundation to the core. What is left of us after we are gone? A collection of old trinkets left behind? Or is it something more? Maybe the lives we spent still echo in the spaces we once called home.

Maybe the words of our ancestors who fought for our American rights with dignity surge through us as we continue where they left off. Maybe when we begin to change our perspectives on our context of home, we can start to mend the lines that divide us.
