Park City Institute Presents Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Grace Potter

Park City Institute presents multi-talented rock musician, Grace Potter, Friday, July 13, 2018 at 6:00 PM, in City Park. The venue is unique to this performance, part of the Institute's 2018 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Night Concert Series.

"Grace Potter is positively captivating onstage," said PCI Executive Director Teri Orr. "We're thrilled to have her back-especially since we're one of just a handful of dates she's performing all summer."

Potter, who was called "one of the greatest Living Voices in rock today," by SPIN, has played every major music festival from Coachella and Lollapalooza to Bonnaroo and Rock in Rio. She has performed and collaborated with The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, Robert Plant, the Allman Brothers, Neil Young, Mavis Staples, and The Roots. She collaborates frequently with country star Kenny Chesney, The pair's GRAMMY-nominated duet, "You and Tequila," was certified platinum by RIAA.

Raised in Vermont, Potter learned to play piano from her mother, sang in school choirs, and performed in regional theater festivals. She was awarded a spot at the prestigious college-residency program, The Governor's Institute for the Arts, before attending St. Lawrence University, where the Nocturnals formed.

Potter has four hit albums with The Nocturnals, and a solo album, Midnight, produced by her husband and collaborator, musician Eric Valentine. Her career has been influenced greatly by her own personal journeys.

"I've experienced a huge amount of growth and change- both personal and professional, and it can be overwhelming for an artist to find ways to express that in a vacuum," said Potter. "So I tried to strip away the confines of other people's expectations. I started tapping into some of the deep-running themes that have shaped me into the human I've become, and as I went deeper and deeper, I found the results to be insanely satisfying."

THERE IS NO PUBLIC PARKING AT THE VENUE. Free parking is available at the Eccles Center, 1750 Kearns Boulevard, and at the base of Park City Resort, with complimentary bus shuttles to the venue.

Park City Institute is a non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing world-class performances and new ideas to the community.
