Pacific Overtures opens on Broadway tomorrow, Thursday, December 2nd!

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) in association with Gorgeous Entertainment (Kumiko Yoshii & Michael Wolk, Producers) is proud to present B.D. Wong as "Reciter" in Stephen Sondheim's and John Weidman's Tony® Award-winning musical PACIFIC OVERTURES, directed and choreographed by Amon Miyamoto, with additional material by Hugh Wheeler and Music Direction by Paul Gemignani.  PACIFIC OVERTURES began previews on Friday, November 12th, 2004 and will open officially on Thursday, December 2nd, 2004 on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street).  This is a limited engagement through January 30th, 2005.

Pacific Overtures is performed in English with Asian-American actors.

Spanning 150 years, Pacific Overtures tells the story of Commodore Matthew Perry's arrival in the "Floating Kingdom" of Nippon in 1853.  This landmark musical chronicles the influence America had upon Japan, detailing and dramatizing the westernization of Japanese culture.  The style of the musical is based on the ancient form of Japanese Noh theatre.

Ticket Information:
Tickets are available by calling Ticket Services at (212) 719-1300, online at www.roundabouttheatre.org, or at the box office at Studio 54 (254 West 54th St.).  Pacific Overtures will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8:00PM with a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinee at 2:00PM.  Please note the following Early-to-Bed Series (evening curtain time is at 7:00 PM):  Tuesday, December 14th through Saturday, December 18th and Tuesday, December 21st through Thursday, December 23rd, 2004.  Ticket prices range from $36.25 to $91.25.  Added Holiday Performances: Sunday, December 19th at 7:30 PM, Monday, December 20th at 7:00 PM, Sunday, December 26th at 7:30 PM and Monday, December 27th at 8:00 PM.
