BROADWAY CLASSROOM PRESENTS "PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER"
First workshop to feature West Side Story

Broadway Classroom will present its first workshop in the new "Putting it All Together" series on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Taught by Broadway stars Melissa Rae Mahon and Sean McKnight, this innovative 3½-hour workshop includes audition techniques, musical theatre song and movement and a Q&A with Broadway professionals, as well as lunch at Mars 2112 and a ticket to see West Side Story.

The all-inclusive workshop is $165 per person, and applications (available at www.broadwayclassroom.com) are due to Broadway Classroom by August 21st. Participants will learn a musical selection and choreography from West Side Story; will participate in a "mock" audition vocal callback in which they will receive supportive, constructive criticism; and will have an opportunity to ask the performers and casting director Nikole Vallens about auditioning in NYC, their path to Broadway and what it's like to be in a hit Broadway show.

"Putting it All Together" is a new program that allows promising young artists the unique opportunity to study with current Broadway performers. The working theatre professionals challenge participants to surpass the level at which they are currently performing by developing the young professional's skill set. In addition, each participant will receive valuable feedback on their presentation and learn the art putting it ALL together.

Broadway Classroom, a division of Theatre Direct International, is a series of interactive workshops designed to further enhance groups' Broadway experience. Meant to engage students in a variety of theatre disciplines and developed in accordance with the National Standards for Arts Education, Broadway Classroom is a flexible program that offers a variety of customizable workshops for any group.
