PS CLASSICS, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American popular song, will commence recording of Jason Danieley and The Frontier Heroes on Thursday, April 10 in a New York studio. The group's critically acclaimed concert, "Love: A Work in Progress" was most recently performed at New York's famed Birdland Jazz Club in February 2008, and will now make its way to disc. PS CLASSICS co-founder Tommy Krasker anticipates a late summer release for this eclectic collection of American song.

St. Louis native Jason Danieley, who currently stars as Aaron Fox in Kander & Ebb's Tony Award-winning Curtains on Broadway, returns to his familial music roots with his latest disc. Danieley notes that this blend of "Eclectic Americana" is reminiscent of Sunday Suppers with his extended family, where his appreciation for blues, country, folk, Broadway, and standard repertoire began. Danieley and pianist/composer/arranger Dan Lipton have christened fresh arrangements of familiar American songs, and Danieley and his band, The Frontier Heroes, wrap their guitars, fiddles, and voices around artistic favorites by composers ranging from Lionel Bart, Leslie Bricusse, and James Van Heusen & Sammy Cahn, to Rufus Wainwright, George Michael, and Stevie Wonder. Comprised of members Dan Lipton, Christian Hebel, Mark Vanderpoel, Michael Aarons, Damien Bassman, and Theresa McCarthy, The Frontier Heroes graciously enfold these tunes with an engaging pop/folk influence, in a repertoire that showcases Danieley's dynamic vocal versatility.

Danieley has enjoyed a busy career on and off Broadway, with leading roles in The Full Monty, Floyd Collins, South Pacific at Carnegie Hall, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn for Encores!, and Candide, for which he earned a Drama Desk nomination in 1997. Danieley and his wife, Broadway leading lady Marin Mazzie, can be heard on the PS CLASSICS recording of their acclaimed album of duets, Opposite You, which originally debuted as part of Lincoln Center's American Songbook Series. Danieley can also be heard on cast recordings of Dream True, The Stephen Schwartz Album, Jule Styne in Hollywood, and two recordings with the prestigious Boston Pops, A Splash of Pops and My Favorite Things.
