In 2013, Tomson Highway published his play, The (Post) Mistress; a One-Woman Musical and released the accompanying CD, Patricia Cano Sings Songs from The (Post) Mistress. That CD was recently nominated for a 2015 JUNO Award in the Aboriginal Album of the Year category.

Patricia Cano will be starring alongside Caity Quinn and Harveen Sandhu in the English-language premiere of Pleiades Theatre's production of The Sound of Cracking Bones/Le bruit des os qui craquent by the critically acclaimed Québecois playwright Suzanne Lebeau.

Directed by John Van Burek, The Sound of Cracking Bones is about two child soldiers caught in the grip of ruthless warlords, their heart-pounding escape towards freedom and the nurse who rescued and cared for them, as she testifies before a commission charged with examining the issue of child soldiers.

The original French play won the 2009 Governor General's Literary Award for Drama as well as several other awards. It has been translated into 7 languages and performed all over the world.

The Sound of Cracking Bones/Le bruit des os qui craquent, will be presented in English at Theatre Passe Muraille February 14-28 (opening in the 18th) and in French (with the same actors) March 3-7. For more information, visit www.pleiadestheatre.org.
