Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Will Come To Cinemas This Autumn

More2Screen is delighted to announce that Classic Spring's production of Oscar Wilde's quintessential English comedy The Importance of Being Earnest will be broadcast live from the West End to over 440 cinemas across the UK and Ireland on Tuesday 9 October 2018.

Starring Sophie Thompson (Coronation Street, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Fiona Button (The Split), Pippa Nixon (Grantchester), Stella Gonet (The House of Elliott) and Jeremy Swift (Downton Abbey), the production is the fourth and final in a year-long celebration of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville Theatre, London.

The Oscar Wilde season has included acclaimed performances from luminaries such as Jennifer Saunders, Edward Fox and Anne Reid. Hugely enjoyed by audiences nationwide, the season will return to cinemas next year with encore screenings of the first three productions beginning with A Woman of No Importance on 23 January, followed by Lady Windermere's Fan on 27 February and An Ideal Husband on 27 March 2019.

Since the season began, the productions have been seen by over 120,000 people at the Vaudeville and 110,000 more on cinema screens nationally and internationally.
