Oprah Winfrey may be returning to the big screen for the first time since 1998 in LEE DANIELS' THE BUTLER - but could she also be headlining on Broadway in the near future?

In an interview with The New York Daily News today, the talk show and media legend opened up about her long-professed desire to take to the stage, echoing her past statements.

"Yeah, Broadway is definitely in my future," Winfrey told the publication. "Nothing is set as of yet, but it's there. I see it. Broadway is in my future."

The chairwoman and CEO of Harpo Productions, her film and television production company, she is a noted philanthropist, the publisher of the lifestyle magazine, O: The Oprah Magazine, and the chairwoman, CEO and CCO of the cable television network, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network, which launched Jan. 1, 2011. Winfrey is also an acclaimed actress, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the film "The Color Purple."

Winfrey stars in the upcoming film "Lee Daniels' The Butler" as Gloria Gaines, wife of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), who, as a White House butler, eyewitnesses notable events of the 20th century during his tenure.
