Open Stage Holds Auditions for AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY and DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, 12/7, 13-14

OPEN STAGE OF HARRISBURG will hold two different CASTING CALLS for Tracy Letts' AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY and THE DIARY OF Anne Frank. Please see audition dates and character breakdown information below. Both auditions will be held at Open Stage of Harrisburg, 223 Walnut Street, on the street level of the Walnut Street Garage in downtown Harrisburg. A stipend will be paid. Both auditions are by appointment only.

Auditions for Tracy Letts' AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY
Audition dates: Mon, Dec 6 & Tues, Dec 7 at 6 pm
Rehearsals begins: February 14
Production dates: April 15 to May 8

AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY takes place in a large country home outside Pawhuska, Oklahoma, sixty miles northwest of Tulsa.  It is set in August, 2007.

Roles to be cast are six men and five women:
Beverly Weston, male, 69 years old
Barbara Fordham, Bev and Violet's daughter, 46 years old
Bill Fordham, her husband, 49 years old
Jean Fordham, their daughter, 14 years old
Ivy Weston, Bev and Violet's daughter, 44 years old
Karen Weston, Bev and Violet's daughter, 40 years old
Mattie Fay Aiken, Violet's sister, 57 years old
Charlie Aiken, Mattie Fay's husband, 60 years old
Little Charles Aiken, their son, 37 years old
Johnna Monevata, Native American, housekeeper, 26 years old
Steve Heidebrecht, Karen's fiance, 50 years old
Sheriff Deon Gilbeau, 47 years old 
Please note the role of Violet Weston has been cast.

Auditions for THE DIARY OF Anne Frank
Audition Dates: Mon, Dec 13 & Tues, Dec 14 at 6 pm
Rehearsals begin: Jan 4
Production dates: March 7 to 13
Actors must have daytime availability March 6 to 13

Roles to be cast are 8 men and 5 women:
Otto Frank, 35 - 48 years old - Determined, mild mannered father of Anne and Margot. A perpetual student and amusing clown.
Edith Frank, 30 - 45 years old -  Anne and Margot's mother. Distressed, but trying to keep her family together.
Anne Frank, 13 - 16 years old - Optimist, sees good in all, is discerning, extremely hopeful, loving life, humorous. Also a moody, sensitive young woman.
Margot Frank, 14 - 19 years old - Frail, shy, pretty older sister to Anne.
Peter Van Daan, 13 - 19 years old  - Passive, uncomfortable, lazy, shy.
Mr. Van Daan, 30 - 50 years old - Hen-pecked husband. Father of Peter.
Mrs. Van Daan, 30 - 50 years old - Belligerent and selfish, always instigates fights, and is rarely helpful but Anne seems to be able to confide in her. Mother of Peter.
Mr. Dussell, 25 - 50 years old - Friend of Otto's, Dentist by profession, distressed but practical, sometimes explosive. Selfish.
Mr. Kraler, 30 - 50 years old - Friend of Otto's.  He helps hide the family and friends and also continues to run the business of the factory.
Miep Gies, 20 - 35 years old - Works in the office below the Secret Annex. She supplies the group with food, news, and happiness.
Three Men, 20 to 45 years old - Soldiers
