One World Observatory - the indoor observatory at the top of One World Trade Center debuts "Winter ONEderland: A Holiday Experience Above It All" - a full seasonal transformation that promises to be New York's new holiday destination. Winter ONEderland will be the centerpiece in an array of must-see seasonal experiences at the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan, the organization announced today.

The completely reimagined experience, titled "Winter ONEderland at One World Observatory," will debut on Friday, November 17, and run continuously through the holiday season, ending on January 7. The family-friendly experience will transform the Observatory into a unique winter wonderland located 1,250 feet above the ground.

"The holiday season is a truly special time in New York City," said Keith Douglas, Managing Director of One World Observatory. "We are thrilled to reimagine the visitor experience for the holiday season. One World Observatory offers so much more than amazing views. Our holiday program transports visitors on a journey around the world that culminates with a visit to the observation deck, complete with holiday treats, thematic dining options and a visit and photograph with Santa."

New additions to the Observatory experience will include:

  • One World of Wonders - A multi-media experience where guests join Winter ONEderland mascot Ollie the Owl as he takes flight, journeying past the wonders of the world - both ancient and modern;
  • Glacier Cave: Guests will wander through a magical underground winter grotto;
  • Snowy SkyPod Journey - Visitors will delight in the thrill of snowfall while riding above New York City's sparkling skyline in the fastest elevators in the Western Hemisphere;
  • Magical Frosted Windows - Whimsical seasonal characters invite guests into their interactive shimmering frosted world;
  • Giant Snow Globe - Visitors can marvel at a giant snow globe showcasing New York City's famous skyline, and enjoy the ultimate social media selfie moment.
  • Santa's Village - Parents can reserve a time for the kids to meet Santa at his new Manhattan home.

One Mix and One Dine will offer festive fare, specialty cocktails and daily features.

New menu additions for the holiday season include hearty entrees, such as turkey roulade with a pecan and cranberry stuffing, and a dry aged New York strip steak.

Holiday cookies and specialty drinks crafted specifically for the season will also be available. New cocktails will include the 5th Avenue, made with cinnamon infused whiskey and Irish cream, the Winter in Central Park, a vanilla-infused vodka with white chocolate liqueur and peppermint, and the Chocolate Covered Pomegranate Martini, a sweet twist on the fruity classic.

The Gallery at One World Observatory will offer commemorative holiday and seasonal merchandise, including ornaments, accessories, scarves and knit caps.

The experience will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (special hours on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1; early closing on Sunday, December 24). Santa visits will begin Friday, November 24 and continue each weekend until Christmas Eve. Visitors can purchase tickets in advance at www.oneworldobservatory.com.

In celebration of the transformation, on Friday, November 17, the Observatory will host a community day, hosted by Santa Claus and Observatory Founding Partner, JetBlue.
