One! HAMILTON Pays Tribute To A CHORUS LINE Live Onstage In Photo Recreation For 40th Anniversary

HAMILTON tributes the Public Theater's A CHORUS LINE in an unforgettable way!

Off-Broadway hit musical Hamilton paid tribute to legendary Public Theater production A CHORUS LINE in honor of its 40th anniversary with a special event last night, recreating the iconic stage image conjured up by director Michael Bennett to cap the unforgettable opening sequence of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical smash, and the star/creator of the show, Lin-Manuel Miranda, shared the photo of the momentous event via social media and it is now available to view.

Miranda posted the pic on Twitter late last night, commenting, "One Singular Sensation. #ChorusLine40 #HamiltonPublic".

Then, Miranda followed up with a series of tweets, sharing, "1) So we put up our headshots and as Blankenbuehler (as Larry) collected our headshots, our male ensemble sang Paul's Who Am I Anyway? solo. 2) then our female ensemble, one by one, led us in What I Did For Love. The original cast joined us onstage and took a bow in THEIR LINE. 3)Oskar presented a plaque that will commemorate ACL outside the Newman Theater. Then we all sang What I Did For Love & cried our eyes out," before adding, "You have not seen dancers live like our dancers did tonight, knowing The Chorus Line was in the audience. Humbled to have shared the stage."

As stated above, all surviving cast members of the original cast of A CHORUS LINE convened onstage as part of the once in a lifetime celebration, as well.

Of note, A CHORUS LINE originally opened on Broadway on March 15, 1975, following a run downtown Off-Broadway at the Public Theater, current home of HAMILTON.
