Following this weekend's scoop that Tony-nominee Peter Gallagher had fallen ill, causing a last-minute cancellation of Roundabout's ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY on Saturday night, BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the actor remains under the weather, and his understudy, James Moye, will take the stage this week for a short series of performances.
Moye will perform opposite leading lady Kristen Chenoweth tonight, Feb. 24, and tomorrow, Feb. 25. Gallagher is expected to return on Thursday, Feb. 26. The actor developed a sinus infection last week, sources confirm, and with a then not-yet-fully rehearsed understudy, the show was left with no other option than to cancel the performance.
On the upside, audience members on Saturday were treated to a quick performance by Chenoweth!
