New Musical Comedy A NIGHT AT THE PLAZA Gets Reading Tonight at Players Club

"A Night at the Plaza" a new musical comedy with book by Ward Morehouse III and music and lyrics by David Romeo, will receive a reading at New York's Players Club tonight, Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00 PM. It is a closed reading.

The cast features actor/singers: Katherine Boynton, Alex Carmine, David Copeland, Madeleine Corliss, Shana Farr, John Fico, Adam Kee, David Romeo, Lucy Shelby, Steve Shoup, and Katerina Vizina.

Composer and lyricist David Romeo has had two platinum records and produced several Broadway plays.

Morehouse has had two plays produced Off-Broadway, "If It Was Easy," co-authored by Broadway producer Stewart F. Lane and "The Actors" which became one of the longest-running Off-Broadway plays in the 1980s. Morehouse is a former Broadway columnist with Reuters, New York Post, New York Sun, amNew York and author of 12 books on grand hotels and theater, including "Discovering the Hudson," a history of Broadway's landmark Hudson Theatre in which The Ambassador Theatre Group is currently producing the revival of Sondheim s "Sunday in the Park with George."

Morehouse's two-character play, "Hound Dog," which brings together two lost souls, a veteran Hollywood screenwriter and a New York actress, will be produced Off-Broadway. A previous reading of the play was held at the T. Schreiber Studio, started in 1969 by Terry Schreiber who directed the Tony Award-winning play "K2" on Broadway and many other plays Off-Broadway and regionally.
