New Light Theater Project and Access Theater will present the New York premiere production of Mother Knows Best, a new comedy based on the true story of a Jewish mother who is forced to come to terms with her gambling addiction. Performances begin May 9, 2016 at Access Theater.

Written and performed by Deb Radloff and directed by Blayze Teicher, Mother Knows Best highlights one woman's sense of denial and the toll it takes on her family. Through a series of comedic encounters, the play depicts the raw isolation and helplessness of addiction -- and those unavoidably connected to it -- while remaining relentlessly compassionate through a sharp, heart-warming sense of humor.

Mother Knows Best was developed through a Rosemarie Tichler Grant and earned Radloff a Best Emerging Artist award as part of the 2013 United Solo Theatre Festival.

Radloff was previously seen in The Caucasian Chalk Circle (Classic Stage Company), Within The Law (Metropolitan Playhouse), Dance Dance Revolution (Les Freres Corbusier), The Yiddish Are Coming: The Chosen Musical (Denver Civic Theatre); Pericles, Othello, Twelfth Night and Measure for Measure (Nebraska Shakespeare Festival) and A Christmas Carol (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park). Her credits at The Old Globe include Richard III, The Tempest, Much Ado About Nothing, Inherit the Wind, Amadeus, As You Like it and Death of a Salesman.

Teicher directed Alexander Sage Oyen's A Night Like This (54 Below), Jim Territo's The Other Direction (54 Below, MTF), Gary Jaffe's Diaspora and Rachel Rosenthal's Rites (The PIT). Film and web content directing includes Abstract Poverty, So Ya Wanna be a Broadway Star and Tough Love. Her credits as an assistant director include SHARK ATTACK! The Unauthorized Sharknado Parody and the upcoming production of Friend Art at Second Stage Theatre.

Mother Knows Best is executive produced by Ben Davis, founder and actor-entrepreneur of Ben Davis Arts, a company dedicated to making art more diverse and affordable to create. He was the associate producer for the creative and casting directors of Broadway's Chicago. He is also the founder of Phonofusion Records, a company focused on reducing the cost of musician services, and has hosted over 30 live events in and around Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

Emma Matters is the production designer. Kate Payne is the production stage manager. Dramaturgy by Elyzabeth Gorman. Public relations services by John Capo Public Relations. The performers appear courtesy of Actors Equity Association.

Performances will be held Monday, May 9 at 9pm, Wednesday, May 11 at 8pm, Saturday, May 14th at 3pm & 8pm, and Sunday, May 15th at 1pm.
