Nellie McKay, who will appear in the Roundabout Theatre Company's upcoming production of The Threepenny Opera, will perform at New Year's Eve at Ars Nova (511 W. 54th St., west of 10th Avenue). The event will begin at 10:30 PM.

New Year's Eve with Nellie McKay features "an evening of music and a special champagne toast to ring in the New Year," according to press notes.

McKay will play the ingenue role of Polly Peachum in The Threepenny Opera, which will be presented at Studio 54 this spring. McKay is best-known for her hit debut album Get Away from Me, which was released by Columbia Records last year. The album was praised for its eclecticism, which embraced influences ranging from jazz to hip-hop. Her next album, Pretty Little Head, will be released in January of 2006. McKay has also opened for acts such as Cyndi Lauper, Sting, Alanis Morisette and at Carnegie Hall, Lou Reed.

The Threepenny Opera, by Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, will begin previews on March 24, 2006 for an April 20th opening. The show, which will be directed by Scott Elliott and feature an adaptation by Wallace Shawn, is currently scheduled for a limited run through June 11, 2006. The musical, which is based on John Gay's The Beggar's Opera and which follows the adventures of a group of thieves, liars, hypocrities and whores, will also feature Cyndi Lauper, Ana Gasteyer, Alan Cumming and Jim Dale.

Tickets for the evening are $35, and include a champagne toast at midnight. They are available by calling (212) 868-4444. For more information, visit www.arsnovanyc.com.
