NYWIFT Reveals 17 Member Projects Selected for 2026 Tribeca Festival
NYWIFT will also partner with Tribeca to present a panel at Spring Studios featuring Dori Berinstein, Maria Cuomo Cole, and more.
New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) has revealed that 17 projects from 16 members have been officially selected for the 2026 Tribeca Festival. The festival takes place June 2-14, 2026, both virtually and in-person in New York City.
The organization will also officially partner with Tribeca to present a panel at its Storytelling Summit on Saturday, June 6, at 12 PM at Spring Studios. The panel, titled NYWIFT Celebrates Tribeca's 25 Years of Women Filmmakers, will look back on Tribeca's 25th Anniversary history of championing women's stories on screen and in the community. The festival has had a major impact in shifting the balance to better recognize women and non-binary creators both in front of and behind the camera. Filmmakers across genres will reflect on Tribeca's formative role in their career trajectory. Tribeca filmmakers will share stories from years past, insights looking toward the future, and share advice. Film clips will be featured. Panelists will include Gabriela Díaz Arp (Director and Producer), Dori Berinstein (Emmy Award-Winning Director, Producer, and Writer), Sharese Bullock-Bailey (Chief Program Officer at Manhattan Neighborhood Network - MNN), Maria Cuomo Cole (Peabody and Emmy Award-Winning Producer), Violet Du Feng (Emmy Award-Winning Filmmaker), and Michele Spitz (Accessibility Consultant and Founder, Woman of Her Word). NYWIFT CEO Cynthia Lopez will moderate.
As part of its festival partnership, NYWIFT is able to offer members at 10% discount on registration for the Storytelling Summit. Tickets are available to the public at https://tribecafilm.com/storytellingsummit. The organization will also co-host a selection of screenings at the festival, all of which feature a NYWIFT member in a key creative role.
The 17 selected NYWIFT member documentary and narrative projects at this year's festival span eight categories and feature members of the community as directors, writers, producers, executive producers, assistant directors, costume designers, marketing professionals, and more. The subjects range from AI and emerging technology's societal impact to sports to women's reproductive healthcare, drag performers, a musical, and everything in between, demonstrating how NYWIFT members have their fingers on the pulse of the cultural moment.
NYWIFT is currently running its Spring Membership Drive, offering a discount on membership as it encourages industry professionals to support the organization's mission of advancing women in media while taking advantage of exclusive networking, professional development, marketing, and thought leadership opportunities.
