NYC Premiere Of DAVID DEAN BOTTRELL MAKES LOVE: A ONE-MAN SHOW Comes to Dixon Place

David Dean Bottrell announced today that he is pleased to bring the newly revised 2019 version of his critically acclaimed One Man show to New York City this February. Partnering with Director Guy Stroman and Producer Akia Squitieri, the show will be presented at the storied Dixon Place Theatre.
"David Dean Bottrell Makes Love: A One-Man Show" premiered in May, 2011 at the Comedy Central Stage in Hollywood, before moving to Rogue Machine where it played a sold out 18 Month long run. It continued it's record, selling out both performances at the Hollywood Fringe Festival and was picked up for a subsequent sold out run at the Asylum theatre in Hollywood.
The running time of the show is 70 minutes. The performance contains some adult content and rotate new stories weekly The show is billed as 70 minutes of true love stories from Bottrell's life; starting at age 6 up to the present.
The show is premiering in tandem with the national release of his new book "WORKING ACTOR: Breaking In, Making a Living (And Making a Life) in the Fabulous Trenches of Show Business!" being published by Ten Speed Press/Random House. In WORKING ACTOR, veteran character actor David Dean Bottrell draws on his 35+ tumultuous years of work in the entertainment industry to offer up a wealth of funny, keenly observed, "insider" stories (packed with highly practical professional tips) to help newcomers with the task of breaking in, making a living, and making a life in the fabulous trenches of show business. About the Team:
David Dean Bottrell (Writer/Performer) theatre credits include productions at Second Stage, Long Wharf, La MaMa, Actors Theatre of Louisville (Humana Festival), Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, Studio Arena, People’s Light and Theatre Company, Colony Theatre and Sci-Fest LA. He also appeared in the smash comedy revue, Streep Tease: An Evening of Monologues from Meryl Streep Movies Performed by an All-Male Cast at Joe’s Pub (as well as the sold-out runs in L.A. and San Francisco). On television, he’s played guest star and recurring roles on such shows as Modern Family, Blacklist, Law & Order: SVU, Rectify, Longmire, Criminal Minds, NCIS, CSI, Bones, Mad Men, True Blood, Justified, Ugly Betty, Days of Our Lives and Boston Legal to name just a few. Akia (Producer) is an award winning Producer, Director & Arts Administrator. She is the Founding Artistic Director of Rising Sun Performance Company and Company Manager for the Innovative Theatre Foundation where she serves on their honorary awards committee. She served as the Company Manager for the international sensation, Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theater for 10 years. Akia has received critical praise for her direction of multiple productions including “Hellcab”, “Goodnight Lovin’ Trail”, “The Last Supper”, "Crapshoot", "Bug" & "The Glory of Living". Past notable credits include working on staff at Horse Trade Theatre Group, serving as General Manager for FRIGID New York’s inaugural year, and returning in multiple positions for each subsequent year; as Production Coordinator for nationally acclaimed Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre, overseeing the playwrights unit and INSIGHT 13 production series and on the Advisory board of the Paul Butterfield Fund & Society.
