NYC life (channel 25), the flagship television station of NYC Media, announced the launch of its expanded fall line-up featuring ten new series, including the return of the popular Emmy Award-winning $9.99, and more than a dozen new weekly short-form programs showcasing New York City. Part of the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, NYC Media is the official TV, radio and online network of the City of New York, informing, educating and entertaining millions of viewers about the City's diverse people and neighborhoods, government, services, attractions and activities. Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver and NYC Media General Manager Diane Petzke previewed a first look of the new programming during the sixth annual New York Television Festival-an indie TV Festival providing a platform to elevate the work of artists creating for the small screen. The new series will premiere on NYC life beginning the week of October 4 and join fifteen series that previously launched earlier this year.

"NYC life's new fall line-up is the result of the collaborative efforts of NYC Media and our many content partners," said Commissioner Katherine Oliver, Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. "Through partnerships with local independent producers and media companies like the Daily Beast, Time Out New York, and Flavorpill, among others, we're able to bring our viewers a diverse and exciting primetime schedule. In addition, with more and more people watching content on their mobile devices, NYC Media has expanded its Video on Demand Player so that it works across numerous platforms. We're dedicated to providing quality content to as many New Yorkers as possible whether they're watching our shows in the back of a taxi, on the Staten Island ferry, online or at home on their couch."

"Whether you're interested in exploring the culture and diversity of the City or learning about delicious and home-grown food, NYC life is sure to appeal to you," said Diane Petzke, NYC Media's general manager. "Our goal at NYC life is to bring our viewers informative and entertaining programming, and this fall we've broadened our programming to include an extra half hour of primetime, which now starts at 7:30pm during the week."

The new season of $9.99 and various short-form programs are original NYC Media productions; other shows are co-productions with NYC Media or were obtained by NYC Media at no cost to taxpayers in its continuing cost-saving strategy to air original and encore programs from independent producers and media partners. The new shows, with a value estimation of $2.4 million, join more than a dozen other programs that were launched in May and combined represent a total savings of $6.15 million to tax payers.

Weeknights, NYC life presents a block of international news offering global perspectives: BBC World News at 6pm, RAI Italian News at 6:30pm, France 24 at 7pm, and Polsat Polish News at 11pm. The popular series Globe Trekker kicks off the night at 7:30pm during the week. New shows will premiere at 8:30pm on different theme nights: Arts & Culture on Mondays; NYC History on Tuesdays; Inside Out New York on Wednesdays; All about Food on Thursdays; and Entertainment on Fridays. Episodes will also be available online after they air on the NYC Media Video on Demand Player: nyc.gov/vod. On the weekends, NYC life also offers an array of children's programming on Saturday mornings and popular travel and cooking shows on Saturday nights.
