PEVETO is honored to welcome GREG MILLER for his first solo exhibition in Texas entitled, OVER TIME. Opens to the public January 24, 2013 with an Artist Reception and will continue through March 9.

Miller's work is steeped in mid-20th century popular culture including Advertising, Literature, Film and Street Graffiti; if you are a fan of Pop-Art, you are automatically a fan of Greg Miller. These 12 new works are rich constructions on canvas that seem to be lifted from the streets of Hometown, America - decades of accumulated, overlaid advertisements and graffiti that populate the sides of time-worn buildings. The physicality of the paintings, something between painting and sculpture, gives the viewer an archaic and nostalgic record of time.

"Labeled a neo-pop and post-pop artist by such critics as Donald Kuspit and Peter Frank, Miller does indeed draw from the pop-culture imagery that saturated American consciousness during the 1950s and 1960s. It was a time during which advertising and text became indelibly encrypted into our experiences of everyday life". - Artweek.LA

A special exhibition catalogue with an interview between Greg Miller and Los Angeles arts writer, Peter Frank is available. The interview reveals Miller's readiness as a cultural participant and as a contemporary storyteller.

Greg Miller received his Masters of Arts from San José State University and Bachelors of Arts from San Francisco Art Institute and has been exhibiting since 1975. His work has been collected by Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans, San José Museum of Art, and the Kemper Museum of Art; private collections include the Charles Saatchi Collection, Playboy Enterprises, Sharon Stone, Toby Maguire, John Paul, Eloise DeJoria, Kyle Ransford and Jessica Alba.
