Montalvo to Perform in Duplex' Brief Confessions

David Montalvo will perform in "Brief Confessions" at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre this August.

"At a time when traditional media is increasingly looking to – and filtering through – the Internet for the few truly talented actors, performers and entertainers, 35sm.com's Internet TV actor David Montalvo made the cut and will make his New York Off-Broadway theatre debut role, starring as Vincenzo in the cabaret-style of Brief Confessions. Performance dates are August 2nd, 3rd and 4th, all beginning at 9:30 PM at New York's world famous cabaret theatre The Duplex Cabaret Theatre," state press materials.

"Brief Confessions will mark a three-fold 'first'" for Montalvo's acting career: his first Off-Broadway theatre performance, first New York acting role, and first cabaret performing arts genre. Motalvo previously played Julio in 35th Street Mission (www.35sm.com) Internet TV, a Seattle-based film production.

"When a NYC adult film producer gets busted shooting a porn flick on the streets of Times Square the whole cast must spend an evening in prison. These men have flashbacks of the most erotic times of their lives and talk about their hopes and fears. As they get to know each other deeper they find they are all searching for the same dream," as 'Brief Confessions' is described.  "Featuring an all male cast performing in their 'briefs.' Issues about coming out, bisexuality, fetish and relationships will be touched on. Use of strong language and erotic performance arts pieces accompanied by monologues are the main focus of this production. Appropriate For Ages: 18 and up."

David Montalvo holds a BA from the University of Washington and currently lives in the West Village, Manhattan, where he has spent the last two years involved in his multi-media debut book boy with an 'i'. Author and actor, his creative repertoire also includes modeling, including both New York City's independent fashion magazine SWOON and fashion label Bodega Blue.
