Michael Feinstein to Open New NYC Nightclub in 2014

New York City nightclub and cabaret venue Feinstein's at Loews Regency closed almost a year ago on December 31, 2012, and according to the New York Times, music legend Michael Feinstein is currently working on opening a new venue. Feinstein has teamed with Birdland owner Gianni Valenti to open 'Feinstein's on Broadway' in midtown Manhattan. Birdland will continue to operate in its current location.

Expected performers include: Liza Minnelli, Barbara Cook, Chita Rivera, Christine Ebersole, and more. Additional details have not yet been announced.

Feinstein is an American singer, pianist, and music revivalist. He is an interpreter of, and an anthropologist and archivist for, the repertoire known as the Great American Songbook. In 1988 he won a Drama Desk Special Award for celebrating American musical theatre songs. Feinstein is also a multi-platinum-selling, five-time Grammy-nominated recording artist. He currently serves as Artistic Director for The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana.
