Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center & Creation Art Center to Present 'In Search Of Benimy'
The works in this exhibition, In Search of Benimy, represent an intriguing group of artists who originate from various parts of the Spanish-speaking world but who currently live and work in the Miami area.
What connects them is their passion for creating art using the often complex and esoteric vocabulary of the abstract. Color is a key element and the works appear to jump off of the page in print as they do when standing in front of them.
This exhibit is a celebration of the 500 years of Hispanic culture in the territory of Florida which was formerly known by the inhabitants of the area as the legendary "Benimy". Juan Ponce de León was the first European who landed in what is today the United States of America. Since then, Hispanic culture has flourished in this beautiful land.
We are pleased to offer this exhibition to the community at MHCAC thanks to the assistance and continued support of Pedro Pablo Peña, Director of MHCAC. He is continually fostering the further development of cultural initiatives in the city of Miami.
