Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Changes for DIE ZAUBERFLOTE

American soprano Kathryn Bowden will make her Met debut singing the Queen of the Night in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte this Thursday, October 5 replacing Kathryn Lewek, who is ill.

Ms. Bowden has previously sung the Queen of the Night at the San Francisco Opera, where she is an alumna of their Merola Opera program. Her other credits with the San Francisco Opera include Nella in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti's The Medium.

Tomorrow evening's performance of Die Zauberflöte will be conducted by Met Music Director Emeritus James Levine and also stars Golda Schultz as Pamina, Charles Castronovo as Tamino, Markus Werba as Papageno, Christian Van Horn as the Speaker, and Tobias Kehrer as Sarastro.
