Marvel, in collaboration with The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) (Executive Director & Producer Dan Markley), is excited to announce that it will hold a chair on the NYMF's Grand Jury, which selects shows for the 2016 Festival. Marvel will be among the prestigious panel that help to fulfill NYMF's mission to nurture the creation, production, and public presentation of stylistically, thematically, and culturally diverse new musicals to ensure the future vitality of musical theatre. Through this dynamic partnership, Marvel will be expanding their creative talent pool into an eclectic ensemble of writers and creators who help craft some of the biggest and brightest shows ever to reach the musical stage.

The Grand Jury is responsible for choosing the Next Link Project selections (with the Director of Programming and the Executive Director and Producer). Experts in all theatrical and story-telling fields from actors to agents to directors, choreographers, and producers, the Grand Jury evaluates the Next Link Project finalists to find compelling stories and unique musicals. The Marvel representative will be joining the numerous award winners in assessing the narratives, discovering new talent, and shaping the future of musical theatre.

"As a writer-service nonprofit organization, NYMF is always seeking out new and exciting platforms for our talented musical theatre creators," said Executive Director & Producer Dan Markley. "In Marvel, we've found a partner to give new opportunities to our writers, and a creative powerhouse to help us judge new work in the rapidly-evolving world of musicals."

"We here at Marvel are incredibly excited to take part in NYMF, and no one more than me," says Senior Editor Nick Lowe. "Having attended many NYMF shows like [title of show] and Pope: The Musical amongst many others, I'm so proud to bring my Marvel sensibilities to the incredible panel of judges!"
