St. James Theatre Productions Ltd, Barry Satchwell-Smith & Robert Mackintosh just announced that the original production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black's classic Tell Me On a Sunday starring the original Marti Webb has been recorded for BBC Radio 2 and will air in April.

This special one-hour programme will feature interviews with both Marti Webb and lyricist Don Black with the full recording of Tell Me On a Sunday recorded at the St. James Theatre.

Lewis Carnie, Head of Programmes for BBC Radio 2, said: "Radio 2 is delighted to have the opportunity to record a landmark piece of Musical Theatre performed by the artist who created the role - Marti Webb. This seminal piece means a great deal to much of our audience and I am thrilled that we can re-create it today in such style. The writing and story are as relevant today as they were when it was first created some 35 years ago. It's an absolute treat for our listeners."

Tell Me On a Sunday tells the story of an English girl newly arrived in New York. Brimming with optimism, she sets out to find success, companionship and love. But as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to wonder whether - in fact - she's been looking for love in all the wrong places.

Tell Me On a Sunday was originally performed as an album and then a TV special and later on stage as one half of Song & Dance. The album Tell Me on a Sundayreached Number One in the charts and the single Take That Look Off Your Face reached Number Two.

Tell Me On a Sunday transfers to the Duchess Theatre on 18th February for a limited 2-week run following its sell out run at the St. James Theatre earlier this month.
