Scott Siegel, the creator/writer/host of the critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year series, which begins its sixth smash season at Town Hall on Monday, March 6 at 8 PM with "The Broadway Musicals of 1930," has assembled a powerhouse cast that includes a rich array of theater and cabaret stars. Fresh off her Tony-nominated performance in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Celia Keenan-Bolger makes her BBTY and Town Hall debut. She is joined by other newcomers to the series, including Deven (Bat Boy) May, Jennifer (Forbidden Broadway) Simard, Miles (two-time Nighlife Award finalist) Phillips, and Michael (Songs From An Unmade Bed) Winther. Dancer/Singers Shannon Lewis and Sean Hingston will perform, as well as BBTY veterans Emily Skinner, Mary Testa, Nancy Anderson, and Douglas Ladnier. Two-time Tony Nominee Marc Kudisch, returns for the second time to direct a BBTY concert and he is slated to perform, as well.

"When I discovered the remarkable number of famous songs that were born on Broadway in 1930," said Siegel, "I promised myself that I'd spread the wealth and put together one of the largest, if not the largest, cast ever assembled for one Broadway by the Year concert. I wanted the best people in town singing the most stunning music Broadway has ever given us." According to Siegel, the cast will be singing songs by Cole Porter, The Gershwins, Rodgers & Hart and a slew of other great composers that were working at the top of their game in 1930. Songs like "I've Got a Crush on You," "On the Sunny Side of the Street," and "Get Happy" are just a few of the standards that were introduced on Broadway that year.

The Broadway by the Year concerts have become, in the words of Variety critic Robert L. Daniels, "A proverbial hot ticket." But because this is the first announcement of the cast, there are still limited seats available for the concert on March 6th. Siegel is "proud that The Town Hall continues its tradition as 'the people's hall' and keeps its ticket prices affordable even when I put a dozen amazing artists together for a one-night-only concert."

Tickets are just $45 and can be purchased at The Town Hall box office at 123 West 43rd Street from noon to 6 PM every day but Sunday. Tickets are also available at TicketMaster at 212-307-4100.
