Mandy Gonzalez Debuts Her New Show, MORE THAN FEARLESS This Weekend at NJPAC

Mandy Gonzalez fans and her FEARLESS Squad can get very excited about the debut of Mandy's new show, MORE THAN FEARLESS, playing 2 shows, this Saturday, March 30th, at NJPAC, in the Chase Room.

Gonzalez has been quietly working on this new show for some time now, with Musical Director, James Sampliner and Director, Richard Jay-Alexander, all while appearing in the juggernaut musical, HAMILTON, on Broadway.

"I'm thrilled to be debuting my new show in my hometown state of New Jersey. Working with Richard Jay- and James is a dream."

The two creatives return the compliment saying, "Being in a rehearsal room with this talented girl and a piano, you know ANYTHING can happen. We're excited for her friends and fans to see the fruits of our labor, as we have worked really hard to show off the full range of this truly exotic creature and all her abilities and talents. She also has a new band: including James Sampliner (Piano, arrangements, orchestrations, conductor and MD), Jamie Eblen (drums), Tim Basom (Guitars) and Rob Jost (basses). Jamie, Tim and Rob are all part of the Dear Evan Hansen family.

Known for her portrayal of Nina Rosario in Broadway's Tony-winning In the Heights, Mandy Gonzalez brings her impressive talents to the intimate cabaret setting with Fearless. In addition to her role in Hamilton, Gonzalez's previous credits include playing Elphaba in Wicked, Princess Amneris in Aida, and multiple roles in Lennon. She's also made appearances on television (Madam Secretary) and the big screen (Julie Taymor's Across the Universe).

On Fearless, her debut solo album, Gonzalez performs powerful songs by contemporary composers like Lin-Manuel Miranda and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt. In the cabaret setting, whether she takes on a standard (like her bluesy, seductive remake of Que Será, Será) or reinvents a Springsteen song ("Born to Run"), her sultry style turns new songs into instant classics, and makes classics sound new again.
