Mainstreet Musicals Announces 2017 Finalists

The three finalists of Mainstreet Musicals' 2017 season have been named.

They are Move It and It's Yours by Bill Weeden, David Finkle and Sally Fey; Gumbo by Brett V. Macias and Christina Quintana; and Xmas in Las Vegas by Joe Bravaco, Tony Finno and Larry Rosler.

This year's finalists, which were selected by guest artistic director Mark Brokaw, will receive concert readings by several affiliated theater companies across the country.

Mainstreet Musicals Inc, a national consortium of theater professionals, working with non-profit and educational partners, coordinates programs that encourage regional development of new musical theater. Programs include professional script evaluation, industry competitions, and a centrally coordinated network of locally organized performance activities that introduce the selected works.

Actor Tim Jerome, Mainstream Musicals' founding president, serves as the program's coordinator.
