Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director), Barry Grove (Executive Producer), and Mandy Greenfield (Artistic Producer) have announced full casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming world premiere of The Madrid, the new play by Liz Flahive, directed by Leigh Silverman.

Previously announced cast members Tony Award nominee John Ellison Conlee (Murder Ballad at MTC), Four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie," The House of Blue Leaves, "The Sopranos"), Drama Desk Award winner Heidi Schreck (Circle Mirror Transformation), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening), two-time Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen (The Heiress), and Christopher Evan Welch (Lincoln) are joined by Brooke Ashley Laine (New York debut), and Seth Clayton (MTC debut).

Rehearsals for The Madrid start today, January 8 with previews for the limited engagement beginning Tuesday, February 5 and opening Tuesday, February 26 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie," The House of Blue Leaves, "The Sopranos") returns to the New York stage in the world premiere of The Madrid by Liz Flahive.

Falco stars as Martha, a kindergarten teacher with a life many would want: a loving husband (Conlee), a devoted daughter (Strole). But when she leaves it all behind, it's up to her daughter Sarah to pick up the pieces. Two-time Obie winner, Leigh Silverman directs this hilarious and heartbreaking story about motherhood, freedom, and trying to see the people in your family as they really are.

THE MADRID was commissioned through the Bank of America New American Play Program.

The creative team for The Madrid includes: David Zinn (scenic design), Emily Rebholtz (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Jill BC Du Boff (sound design), and Tom Kitt (original music).
