A developmental reading of The Geranium on the Windowsill Just Died But Teacher You Went Right On, a musical adaptation based on the best-selling book by Albert Cullum, featuring a book and lyrics by Michael Lluberes and music by Jared M. Dembowski, is set for today, October 20th at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in New York City.

This avant-garde musical explores the inner thoughts and feelings of elementary school students as they navigate their way through the trials and day at tribulations of an ordinary school. This new musical features an all child cast.

Directed by Michael Lluberes (The Boy in the Bathroom), the cast includes Tony Winner and Grammy Award Nominee Milly Shapiro (Matilda), Charlotte Rose Masi (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with Scarlett Johansson), Christopher Martinez (Radio City Christmas Spectacular Tour), David Austin, Gabby Gutierrez (South Pacific), Ian Etheridge (The Great Country), Molly Ilana Richardson (Our Town), Peyton Ella (Sound of Music on NBC with Carrie Underwood), Stephen Jack Sayegh (Bye Bye Birdie). Musical Direction by Laura Bergquist (upcoming Allegiance). Produced by Tom Nordyke, Ole Zupetz, and Jennifer Isaacson.

Jared M. Dembowski (Music) Work has been heard at The Duplex, Don't Tell Mama's, Baruch College's Cabaret Calvacade, The Green Concert at the Makor Theatre, The Woodstock Fringe Festival, New York Musical Theatre Festival, London's Mercury Musicals and Arts Educational Schools. Member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre, ASCAP and The Dramatist's Guild. Musicals include: Pinocchio, Sherlock Holmes (the early years), The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch and Judy, Lost Boy, The Geranium on the Windowsill Just Died but Teacher You Went Right On.
