Long Wharf Theatre Holds 2010-11 Season Auditions, 7/30-31

Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Ray Cullom, will be hosting Equity and Non-Equity auditions for its 2010-2011 season.

Auditions for Equity actors will be held Friday, July 30, 2010, from 12:00PM to 8:00PM (dinner break will be 4:00PM to 5:00PM). Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout the day as time permits. Non-Equity actors will be seen Saturday, July 31, 2010, from 10:00PM to 6:00PM (lunch 2:00PM to 3:00PM). Auditions will be held on Long Wharf Theatre's mainstage, located at 222 Sargent Drive, New Haven, CT.

Auditioners are required to prepare a brief contemporary monologue; a second contrasting monologue may be requested at the auditioner's discretion.

AGNES UNDER THE BIG TOP. By Aditi Brennan Kapil. Director: Eric Ting
1st rehearsal: February 1, 2011. Runs: March 2, 2011 - April 3, 2011
Seeking:

ELLA: American, white, female. A rheumatoid, bedridden woman. She is deformed and wooden, her fingers trapped in claws. Prematurely aged.
AGNES: Liberian immigrant, female, 30s, Ella's home care worker. Tough and funny.
ROZA: Bulgarian immigrant, female, 40s, speaks Bulgarian, Ella's home care worker. Silent except when addressing birds.
SHIPKOV: Bulgarian immigrant, male, 40s, Roza's husband, drives a subway train. Former ringmaster.
HAPPY: Indian, male, 20s, recently immigrated con artist, training as subway driver. Smiles a lot.
BUSKER: Plays an instrument on the subway platform, is all other voices/voiceovers, moves freely through time and space

ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION. By John Patrick Shanley. Director: Eric Ting

Seeking:

ALDO SCALICKI: An intense Italian guy, about 30 years old. All his life he's lived in Little Italy, in New York.
HUEY MAXIMILIAN BONFIGLIANO: Aldo's best friend since childhood. Huey is more obviously vulnerable.
AUNT MAY: A handsome Italian woman in her middle years.

TERESA: A big striking Italian girl in her late twenties.
JANICE: An angular, patrician Italian woman with strawberry blond hair and austere good looks. She's in her thirties.
