The Really Useful Group's website reports that the new London cast recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music will be released in UK stores on December 11th.

Priced at £12.99, the CD can also be pre-ordered online.  The track listing follows:

The Sound of Music--which has earned $13 million in advance sales--began previews at the London Palladium on November 3rd and opened on November 15th. Jeremy Sams (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) directs and Andrew Lloyd Webber produces.  The revival stars Connie Fisher, winner of the reality show "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria," as Maria, Alexander Hanson as Captain Von Trapp, and opera star Lesley Garrett as the Mother Abbess.

The Sound of Music, which concerns a plucky young governess who becomes the matriarch of the von Trapp family, features music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics and book by Oscar Hammerstein II.
