Ars Nova today announced a by-invitation-only reading of Suprema, a new musical by Jordan Harrison (Maple and Vine) and Daniel Zaitchik (Picnic at Hanging Rock), on Friday, May 18 at 3pm at Ars Nova.

The musical is directed by Leigh Silverman (Chinglish) with musical direction from Julie McBride. The cast features Lisa BresciaJason Danieley, Reese Diaz, Claybourne Elder, Andie Mechanic, Henry Stram, Emily Swallow and Betsy Wolfe.

The musical is described as follows: "What if you could hear the difference between a truth and a lie? What would it do to your home life? Suprema is a strange-but-true three-way love story about the creator of both Wonder Woman and the lie-detector test, and the two real women who inspired him."

Suprema is an Ars Nova commission and has been developed extensively at Ars Nova. Additional support for the project has been provided by The O'Neill's National Music Theater Conference, New Dramatists, and the TheatreWorks musical retreat. Zaitchik and Harrison have also received Guggenheim and Hodder Fellowships, as well as the Frederick Loewe Award (through New Dramatists).
