Lea DeLaria To Host Reading At Drunken! Careening! Writers! 12/16

Award-winning actor, singer and comic Lea DeLaria will introduce and present contributors from Best Lesbian Erotica 2011 (Cleis Press), at the December edition of the long-running reading series, Drunken! Careening! Writers! on Dec. 16, at 7pm, at KGB Bar, 85 E. 4th St. Admission is free. No reservations are required.

DeLaria, who was this year's guest judge, picked 20 stories from the many submissions to the Lambda Award-winning anthology, and will read from her introduction and present readings by contributors Charlotte Dare, KikiDeLovely, D.L. King, Sinclair Sexmith and Xan West.

"December means the Best Lesbian Erotica reading at Drunken! Careening! Writers! Because we're traditional that way," said DCW founder/curator Kathleen Warnock, who hosted the first BLE reading as a contributor in 2004, and took over as series editor in 2009. This is the seventh year for the annual reading at KGB.

Drunken! Careening! Writers! is a reading series based on the proposition that readings should be by 1) good writers; 2) who read their work well; and 3) something in it makes people laugh (nervous laughter counts). And 15 minutes tops.
