The New Victory Theater and Barnes and Noble host an evening with playwright Laura Eason on  February 27th at 7 p.m.

Laura Eason, the author of more than 15 plays (Sex With Strangers, Around the World in 80 Days) and former Artistic Director of Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago, will discuss the delights and challenges of adapting Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer for the stage. Her play, hailed by The New York Times as “sassy, ingeniously staged and deeply affecting,” will perform at The New Victory Theater from March 2 through March 11.

The discussion with Ms. Eason is part of “Writers on Writers” a free Barnes and Noble special event series where contemporary writers discuss the works of other writers, lending their perspectives and insights. Past “Writers on Writers” events have included Susan Cheever on Louisa May Alcott, Aryn Kyle on Ernest Hemingway, and Scott Spencer and Francine Prose on Anne Frank.

The discussion will be moderated by New Victory Teaching Artist, Ted Sod.

The discussion will take place at Barnes and Noble, Upper East Side, 86th Street and Lexington Ave.
