Before hurricane Maria hit the Caribbean GROWING UP GONZALES was a thriving Off-Broadway Latino play. The small show could always count on 75% of the seats to be filled in the once a week show that both audience and critics agree is a phenomenal experience. Since Maria, writer/director Felix Rojas says "It's tough right now. Everybody is doing shows to raise money for hurricane victims. That's tough to compete with."

Ironically, GROWING UP GONZALES is a one person play that takes its audience on a brief yet delicious trip through the Caribbean where the main character's arrival, at 9 years of age, is honored with the slaughtering of a pig...right in front of him. It was "the most violent thing I had ever seen in my life". The show goes on to explore the relationship between two estranged brothers, one has passed and it's the others responsibility to clean out his deceased brothers apartment, what he stumbles across during the cleaning changes his life forever.

Gonzales is offering a half price discount for the next few shows. Find the discount at: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/982068/prm/FREDDY
