Balm in Gilead is set in an all-night diner in New York, where the riff-raff, the bums, the petty thieves, the lost and the desperate of the big city come together. Ms. Marchese is the founding Artistic Director of The Bridge Theatre Company in New York, where she directed their inaugural production of Portland by Ruben Carbajal ("If you're looking for a solid young theatre company to follow, the Bridge Theatre Company merits serious consideration" - NYTheatre.com) and The Bridge West in Los Angeles (whose production of Parallel Lives was called "an impressive showcase for two talented thespians" by Variety). Ms. Marchese is currently a member of the critically acclaimed dance/theater company, Company XIV.
