The fifteenth annual gala benefit for Landmark on Main Street will take place on Saturday evening, November 7, 2009 with a special performance by Broadway's leading lady Kelli O'Hara and a post-concert celebration in the tented Spotlight Club. Angela and Scott Jaggar and Phyllis and Joel Joseph will be honored for their tremendous contributions to the organization. The Gala Chairs are Leslie and Andrew Abramowitz, May Newburger, and Judith and Morton Sloan. The Honorary Chairs are Angela Susan Anton, Claudia Caruso Rouhana, Jane & Robert Harding, Lillian McCormick, and Frank Ullman. Kelli O'Hara's performance is generously underwritten by Dot and Ed Slade in celebration of Ed's 65th birthday.

Ms. O'Hara is a very bright star on Broadway and off - she has received three Tony Award nominations for her performances in Lincoln Center's South Pacific and The Light in the Piazza and Broadway's The Pajama Game with Harry Connick, Jr. Other Broadway credits include Jeckyll & Hyde, Sondheim's Follies, The Sweet Smell of Success with John Lithgow, and Dracula. In addition to her acclaimed Carnegie Hall solo debut with the New York Pops, she has performed at Carnegie Hall with Barbara Cook and at The Kennedy Center with Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony Orchestra. She sang the role of Eliza in the New York Philharmonic's My Fair Lady - and her new cabaret show has received critical raves.

Drawing on the themes of Kelli O'Hara's musicals, the post-concert party cuisine, prepared by H on the Harbor, will include a South Pacific station with Asian foods and drinks; a Light in the Piazza station with Italian foods and drinks; a Pajama Game station with All-American desserts among many other delicacies throughout the club.

The Spotlight Gala is Landmark's most important fundraising event of the year when community members can enjoy a world-class performance and celebrate with friends - while providing essential support for this not-for-profit organization. Landmark is also the home of the Parent Resource Center, the Port Washington Children's Center, the Teen Center, and the Doctors' Gym that all serve the community. A number of special events and programs are planned to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Main Street School building which opened in 1909.
